Verisity Announces SureCov 3.0

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 2001--Verisity, Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST), the leading provider of functional verification automation software tools, today announced the immediate availability of SureCov(TM) version 3.0. The latest release gives users a boost in performance through several enhancements, including a unique new feature called re-instrumentation that gives users more control over their coverage. Additionally, SureCov 3.0 features new user interfaces, easing users' ability to view, analyze and manage their coverage data more effectively.

``SureCov has always been the performance leader and this latest release further solidifies this position,'' said Michael Mertz, director of product marketing for Verisity. ``We've also added some unique features that put more control of the coverage process in the hands of users. SureCov is the fastest, most versatile code coverage solution available.''

The performance boost in SureCov 3.0 comes from several enhancements: two new features and a restructured database. One of the new features, called re-instrumentation, is completely unique to SureCov and enables users to better manage the coverage process. With re-instrumentation, users get a boost in performance proportionate to the coverage already attained. For example, a user can instruct SureCov to remove metrics for previously covered code, allowing SureCov to cover and track metrics for only the uncovered portion of the design. In this way, users direct the coverage to the problematic design areas, reducing the overhead in each successive simulation, resulting in a dramatic speedup in the users' verification.

``SureCov 3.0 is the code coverage tool of choice for our verification methodology,'' said P.J. Sherhart, Member of the Technical Staff at Agere Systems. ``We recommend it to others because it's extremely easy to use, plugs easily into your design flow and helps you quickly pinpoint areas in the design that require additional verification effort.''

Other key capabilities contributing to the performance boost in version 3.0 includes a restructured database and increased flexibility in allowing users to select block-only or combined block and arc coverage. The restructured database allows for better design compaction thus allowing SureCov to support larger designs while increasing performance. With the new block-only coverage option, users can target coverage improvement at the block level only, without incurring additional performance overhead through a combined block and arc coverage.

SureCov 3.0 also includes new graphical user interface (GUI) features including test ranking and database merging, support for foreign or protected modules, and selective instrumentation control of design directories and files. The new GUIs make it easier for users to view, analyze and manage their coverage data. Support for foreign or protected modules allow customers to incorporate modules written in other languages in SureCov's verification environment. Selective instrumentation control adds greater flexibility by allowing users to selectively disable coverage for design libraries and files.

Pricing and Availability

SureCov v3.0 is available now on the Linux Operating System, Solaris and HP workstations running HP-UX. The price is $15,000 U.S. for a floating LAN license.
